Maria Botto
Oil Painting
I attended the School of Visual Arts and Drama in Mar del Plata, Argentina and later graduated from the School of Human Services in Massachusetts. It was there that I was introduced to painting. I enjoy painting scenes in which
characters expose their conflicts with themselves and with others.
Ceramics
My mother, Ines Palacio, taught me to love ceramics as a child. I have worked as a ceramist for over 20 years, both as a free lance artist and as an instructor.
Teaching
I have worked as an Art teacher for many years. I believe in the development of art classes in which creative activities aid in therapeutic processes. I have
also taught Spanish and English.
Public Service
I believe that through the Arts many conflicts can be resolved. I hope to use my talents as an artist to help families in crisis. My particular emphasis is in child abuse situations and drug abuse prevention.
